Recently renovated 5 (smaller) bedroom house for rent on Gun Lake. A 28 day Minimum is required. Sorry to say I can not accept shorter stays due to regional district by laws. Includes modern dock access to water including 3 kayaks and 2 water paddle boards, 2 canoes, water floats, electric air pump, several life jackets and fishing rods. The rates vary depending on the month. Preference is given to single family recreational use. Note the expensive house cleaning fee.

The space
Your family or families will have a great time at the lake. Bring your own ski boat and enjoy water skiing or use our canoes, paddle boards or Kayaks. Excellent lake for skin diving. There are some water floats and an electric air pump located in the basement for guests to use. A shallow grade into the lake is great for safer swimming. Have a beach party on the sunny deck in the early afternoon and a night fire while watching the dark night sky. Ample parking and room for a camper. The cottage has smoke (10 year) detectors in every bedroom. The cottage is located approximately 2.5 hours drive from Whistler or Lillooet.

The first 100GB of downloads (per 28 days period ) included , the speed test indicates a approx 9 MB download speed and 1 MB upload speed. After the first 100 GB, each GB is $ 2/ GB. That can be very expensive.

It is suggested you bring food and 19 liter plastic drinking water containers. The local Gold Bridge store has limited supply and expensive due to the remoteness.

There are screens on all the windows in the cottage.

A grocery store is located in Gold Bridge a 15 minute drive away. A credit card self serve gas pump is located in Gold Bridge.. Guest should try and dispose of their own garbage. The GARBAGE DUMP is located close by but only open SUNDAY, MONDAY & THURSDAY. The worldly Tyax Lodge (on Lake Tyax) is a 45 minute drive.
Nearest hospital is 2 hours away in Lillooet.

It is very beautiful but also very rugged. The best time for viewing the placid lake is in the morning from 7:00am to 10:30am. After 10:30am a light breeze can add a ripple to the water. Light and strong winds can come up on the lake without warning in the afternoon and white-caps can appear making canoeing difficult. I strongly suggest guest should wear a life-jacket when in the lake and on watercraft or paddleboards. The paddle board and kayaks are watercraft. There are plenty of life jackets of all sizes. (more than 10 life-jackets). One small canoe is very tippy and larger is very stable.

Wildlife, especially deer, can be seen almost everyday if out and about. There are bears in the area so keep garbage well bagged and in the house or basement before taking it to the local dump. Do not leave smelly garbage outside at night.

Children who can not swim should wear a life jacket at all times when playing outside.

If you are interested and willing to take the risk, I know of one secret gold mine tunnel that seem safe to venture into for 100 to 250 feet in length. Hard hats or bicycle helmets plus flashlights are recommended.

There are 2 or 3 used Mountain bicycles available for use. An electric air pump is in the basement. Helmets are not provided.
