DescriptionWhy is this stay fit for a remote worker

Our private 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house is close to downtown right in between two of San Antonio's most popular neighborhoods, South Town and Lone Star Arts District! Its one of the best areas to stay in if you want to taste the local culture and still be near places like the Alamo and Riverwalk!
We also loaded this house with amnites. Too many to mention! Amenites like 75in TCL Series 6 Mini LED TV, Surround sound and speakers everywhere, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, NBA Jam Arcade & More!

The space
Like we said, there are a ton of fun games and tech here that few, if any Airbnbs have. You can probably tell by the reviews and this listing that we are nerds when it comes entertainment. At the bottom of this section I'll list some of our more popular amenities for quick reference! Please also read the 2nd to last section labeled "important note about the space" and the "more about the location" section before you book... we just don't want our guests to be surprised!

LIVING ROOM:
The living room features upgraded electronics that other Airbnb hosts refuse to spend money on. Instead of finding the cheapest smart TV we could find and calling it a day, we put some real thought into what might impress our visitors. We started with a TCL 6 Series 75in Mini LED 4k TV & a Vizio Elevate 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos sound system. Its one of the brightest and most colorful TVs on the market! The Vizio Elevate sound system uses sound tech so that sound from movies and games seems to come from all directions. Attached to this system is an Apple TV 4k, a Xbox Series X/S a Nintendo Switch and Direct TV for live TV and Sports. The Xbox Series X/S (disc-less version) features Ultimate GamePass, so you can play over 100 popular games for free (including games like Madden and NBA2k). I bought several of the most popular games for the Nintendo Switch, and buy new games when they come out, there may even be some surprise games for the Switch! The Apple TV 4K is logged onto our house account that we Amanda and I family share with. So you have access to our 400+ movie library, including newer titles like Wonder Woman 1984 and many many classics, like Back to the Future & the Matrix (most in 4k and Atmos!). Direct TV has one of the upper tier packages and includes NFL Sunday Ticket and more. Also included is Hulu, HBO Max, Paramount Plus, Apple TV +, Showtime and Netflix! Also worth noting, there is a beverage/ wine fridge and a pullout couch in this area as well!

OPEN KITCHEN & DINING AREA:
The open dining room and kitchen area has everything you could want as well! A large dining table for 6 (2 more seats on the kitchen island). Amanda and I love to cook, so we wanted this to be a fun and stress free place to make a meal. Thats why we spent extra on high quality pots and pans and included stainless steel kitchen tools and multiple baking sheets. From mixing bowls to measuring spoons, everything is here. Also included is a Instant Pot, electric Kettle and a Ninja Blender! The counter tops and kitchen island are made of butcher board that I sand down or replace from time to time, so you can use the high quality cutlery on our counter space without worrying about ruining it. The gas range features 4 burners and a griddle... Gas ranges always elevate the cooking experience compared to an electric stove in our opinion!

There is also a work desk in this space (one of two desks in the house). The desk features a awesome 32in Ultra-Wide monitor with necessary wires/ adapters so you can plug in your MacBook or PC laptop. These Ultra-Wide monitors are perfect for multitasking and using multiple apps at the same time! Perfect for working remotely! There is a washer and dryer behind the barn style door near the kitchen as well!

Also in this open concept area is an old school NBA Jam arcade! This game has aged perfectly and is still as fun to play now as it was in the 90s! Featuring your favorite NBA players from the 90s, this arcade lets you choose from the original NBA Jam, NBA Jam Tournament Edition and NBA Hangtime, which is the sequel to NBA Jam that came out in the late 90s. As you can see in our pictures, we also went all out on our coffee station. Featuring a coffee maker that can make coffee from K-cups or espresso from N-pods. Both types of coffee, as well as sugar and creamer are included! For coffee enthusiast, I also included a French Press, a coffee grinder and electric kettle.

Lastly in this area are 2 Apple Home Pod Minis and a original HomePod. In my opinion, the HomePod is one of the best speakers for listening to music, combined with the Minis, the entire kitchen and dining room can come alive with music. Of course, these smart speakers are connected to an Apple Music account, so you can listen to virtually any song or artist you like! The TV in the kitchen has an Apple TV 4K, so its perfect for controlling the music on the HomePod speakers or for helping you cook!

BEDROOMS:
I wanted each bedroom to have something cool in it, rather than just a bed and some nice decor. The Twin bedroom is probably the most popular, with a Playstation 4 pro and a Playstation Virtual Reality Headset with all the biggest VR games included. The TV is mounted high near the ceiling to avoid any accidents. Play Iron Man VR, Batman VR and more! Its such a fun technology that keeps getting better! The Master Bedroom features a large 4k TV, an Apple TV 4K and a Sonos sound system that produces surround sound. The Sonos system includes a Beam and a Sonos One SL on each side of the bed! You will also find an exercise bike in this room, perfect for getting your blood flowing in the morning! Also in this room is a walk in closet where I store other amenities and extras, like portable fans, a luggage rack and extra beds. Last is the Queen Room. This room features a Xbox One X and a 4k TV. Play Xbox One games in 4k using the same game pass account as the Xbox Series X. There is also an additional desk in this room that is perfect for those who want to work but prefer the privacy of a bedroom. Both the master and the Queen rooms feature queen beds, while the twin room has two twin beds. 2 Rollaway single beds are also available in the closets as well as a high quality air mattress. One living room sofa does pull out into a queen! All beds are high quality!

BACKYARD:
The backyard features a performance Webber Kettle Grill, a FirePit Table, a outdoor dining table and a few games. Games may vary, as of this writing its oversized Jenga, oversized Connect 4 and Horse Shoes! The Webber Kettle Grill may not look like anything special, but its one of the most durable and high quality charcoal grills you can buy (I'm a fan of these grills). In the kitchen I also include a grill kit with portable speaker, grilling utensils and more. The Fire Pit is a blast to sit around with friends or family in the evening, there's just something about gathering around a fire pit table that can elevate the night! The backyard is fully closed in and does have plenty of light at night that is easy to turn on and off. Note: I do not usually include propane or charcoal. I do try to have the propane tanks replaced as often as possible, but because of logistical reasons, I can not guarantee there will be a full tank. Luckily there are several places only minutes away that you can refill one of these tanks cheaply, including an HEB that's 3 minutes away or a Home Depot that's 6 minutes away.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE SPACE:
I also want to say, this is an imperfect house. The house was built in 1913. Although the house has undergone multiple remodels in the last 100 + years, it has a few cosmetic flaws and I want to be upfront about that. The back part of the house has foundation issues that you probably won't notice at first. It shifts slightly with extreme weather (Fixing that foundation is one of my main goals in renting out this home). You won't feel or notice the foundation shifting or anything like that. It's something that happens over the course of weeks and months. The shifting foundation occasionally results in a few weird quirks. For example, every once in a while a door sticks or won't latch. There are a few visible cracks in the walls (not many) that are a result of the slight foundational shift. I always try to stay ahead of problems. Every time a crack pops up I try to have it covered back up and every time a quirk pops up like a sticking door, I have it repaired... but they can happen slowly without me noticing sometimes.

We truly tried to make the most of this house, drawing from travel experiences that disappointed us. Staying at Airbnb after Airbnb that were expertly decorated but had nothing else going for them other than that. We choose to focus on substance rather than focus on how the house would look in pictures. We are not expert decorators, but I do think we succeeded in making the most out of this 1,350 square foot house. This house isn't huge and we designed it with 6 people in mind, but you can easily have up to 9 and still be comfortable and have enough in the house to keep everybody entertained!

I personally love this house, our neighborhood, and all of the quirks... but I know there may be potential guests that don’t like that kind of thing and don't want to see imperfections in their Airbnb rental. We completely understand and respect that. If you are somebody who is unsure and wants to ask us a few questions before making a decision, feel free to send us a message using the "ask the host" button... that being said, our guests rarely encounter problems. The house has a modern style make-over with a new central A/C and a new electrical layout. The vast majority of guests would never even guess that the house is 100 years old!

Guest access
When you rent this house from us, you are renting the entire house! There are no locked closets or rooms here. Everything from the driveway to the backyard belongs to you and your group. Also, this is NOT a duplex or a unit that's part of a complex. If you have experience renting Airbnbs, then you have probably run into hosts who are not straight forward in their listing about whether the place is a duplex or apartment. You think you're renting a house but end up renting a small space that is shared with others. That will never happen with us!

Its also worth noting that parking can require a bit of patience for some people with larger vehicles. Any size vehicle can fit in the driveway, but with the house being located on an underpass, the street is somewhat narrow so backing out requires patience. Sometimes it may take up to 30 seconds as you pull forward and back to get enough space to get out of the driveway. Its worth noting that its never been a problem for anybody, just requires a bit of patience!

I highly recommend bringing a bike (or renting one from a near by bike rental shop). With a bike, all of the best parts of the neighborhood will be available to you within just minutes. It will also allow you to take advantage of the near by Mission Trail. A really awesome bike/running trail that starts where the Riverwalk ends. The trail runs alongside the river and has exits to various parks, like confluence park and Missions like Mission Conception. Its a super underrated part of our city! Walking is also an option, with popular places restaurants just 5-15 min walk away. It gets hot here during the summer though, so having a rental car where you can drive to locals in just minutes isn't a bad idea! One of the great parts of renting a house is this location is that you can't go wrong no matter what you decide to do!

Other things to note
- We can usually provide extra amenities upon request. We don’t store some amenities at the house to save space, this can include items like a pack n play, high chair, portable fans and more. If you want an amenity we don’t have, don’t be afraid to ask us if we can provide it! I’ve had guests ask for things like an extra computer monitor and extra kitchen equipment. So far we have been able to help every time!

- As pet owners ourselves, we don’t mind accommodating your dogs. Traveling with your pet rather than having to board them is a huge plus for some families and can make traveling more fun and less stressful. We have found that people who travel with their dogs are always very responsible pet owners, so we don’t charge an extra fee (we do ask that you clean up after them though). However, please let us know before you arrive so that I can put out a kit I made for dog owners and give you a couple of pet rules that helps us ensure the next guest will not see any trace of your pet. The kit includes things you can use to clean up after your dog inside the house and outside, as well as things like a leash and dog treats! Please let us know if your dog is not trained to go to the bathroom outside before you book. We may not be able to accommodate a situation like that.

- This house is in a fantastic and safe location, BUT the house is older (built in 1913!) and has unique surroundings. Enjoy views of the church across the street or the warehouses turned art galleries! Most people love the quirks of this neighborhood and the street the house is on, but I don't want people to be surprised when they arrive, so please be sure to read the "More about the location" section of this listing to avoid any surprises! Its usually a button that you click on underneath the map!

- There is a doorbell camera in front of the house. We do not monitor the camera or even look at the video unless something comes up. You have full access to the feed via a Vivint security panel as well as the recorded videos. You can view the camera using the panel anytime you like. The monitor will turn on automatically when the doorbell rings and you can use it to talk to people as well!
